This week we welcomed Jos Meessen, director of Meet the Youngsters, and his team back to our office – this time to celebrate the signing of our cooperation agreement by Dr. Helmut Dinger and Mr. Meessen. Together with Debora Greis, Franziska von Meer and Marc-Peter Baums, we laid the foundation for a successful future collaboration and celebrated this milestone together.

The winter semester is flying by! It feels as if our students had just been in Aachen for the first time and got to know each other personally. But now the second attendance phase was just around the corner – and this time it was all about surgery and its usage in periodontology.

Just before the start of the new year, we invited institutes, companies and students of RWTH International Academy to open a dialog about an important milestone of our Master's Degree Programs: The Master's Thesis.

An exciting question that was asked as part of our "Ask the Seniors" event series in November. For the second year in a row, we brought freshmen and seniors together in a talk show format – and it was a total success!

Last week our Live Talk took place, where interested students got a detailed insight into the program. All founding instances of the program were represented.

Last week we welcomed the first batch of our brand new Master's Degree Program Applied Health Informatics & Digital Medicine (AHI) in Aachen. With this part-time program, we are training physicians and computer scientists to become experts in the field of medical informatics.

This year's Community Day gave our alumni community a chance to reconnect, find out what's new at RWTH and continue their lifelong learning journey.

The German Engineering College (GEC) supports international students in closing academic gaps and securing their study place at RWTH Aachen University.

How can it be August already?

Our students of the M.Sc. Periodontology (Paroma) / Class of 2023 were in Aachen for the last time – we are always surprised how quickly the four attendance phases go by.

During the practical days, our students focused on "Implantology" and "Laser in Periodontal Therapy".

Digitalization and additive manufacturing – also known as 3D printing – have become an integral part of modern production.

In order to provide our participants in the “Production Technology meets Industry 4.0” Summer School with the latest methods and knowledge from research and industry, we visited the Chair Digital Additive Production (DAP) at RWTH Aachen University as part of the program!

As part of our Summer School "Robotics & Innovation for Future Industries", Magazino GmbH gave an inspiring expert talk on the topic of "Bringing Mobile Manipulation into the Real World".

With over 140 employees in Munich, Magazino GmbH develops intelligent mobile robots that revolutionize intralogistics.

The Equestrian Stable Management Certificate Program has been running successfully since the beginning of April and participants have already completed exciting modules, gained valuable insights and passed exams.

On Friday, July 5, the Central Event took place as a highlight of the program at CHIO Aachen.

Last week, after an intensive preparation period over the past few months, the Equestrian Stable Management Certificate Program has finally started with the first group of participants!

The Equestrian Stable Management Certificate Program, which is a cooperative project between CHIO Aachen CAMPUS and RWTH International Academy, is an interactive, practice-oriented online program that enables participants from two tracks with different focuses to develop their professional skills in the field of managing an equestrian sport stable.

What can professionals in architecture learn today to contribute to a sustainable tomorrow? The answer can be found in our new hands-on Certificate Course "Designing for Sustainability"!

This course is designed for architects and civil engineers who want to develop the latest skills in sustainable construction using natural materials and green building techniques.

In October, we had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from Southeast University in Nanjing, China. Following the success of our long-standing partnership in customized Summer & Winter Schools, the cooperation between SEU and RWTH International Academy is now expanding through the development of a new "Mini-Mester" program.

Is it already November again? Indeed – and that means for our M.Sc. Periodontology 2023: Welcome to the first face-to-face phase!

The new group of students in the part-time Master's Degree Program has been learning together digitally since the end of September. This is the first time our students have been to Aachen.

In October, we welcomed a new group of part-time master's students. We are happy to welcome our new students for M. Sc. Laboratory Animal Science!

In the last week, RWTH students of the public master’s degree programs of the Faculty of Civil Engineering had the opportunity to get to know the RWTH BIM Talent Program and the three involved practical companies at the Live Talk with Hilti Deutschland AG, Viega GmbH & Co. KG and Tecklenburg GmbH.

191 students will begin their studies in one of our 7 Master’s Degree Programs this fall! 140 guests attended our Welcome Day at the Super C of RWTH Aachen University. We are still very excited and reveling in the amazing atmosphere!

We also celebrated the Scholarship Award Ceremony during the Welcome Day 2023, where we recognized and honored outstanding individuals who have demonstrated excellence and dedication in the pursuit of their education.

The International Freshers' Fair is one of many highlights during the Welcome Week at RWTH Aachen University. All students had the opportunity to get as many questions answered as possible on one day in one location.

Among various university services, our Student Success Managers and our Career & Relationship Manager provided insights into our programs at RWTH International Academy and shared useful solutions with the students to be successful throughout their studies.

Exciting news! We are pleased to announce the launch of our new part-time Master's Degree Program M.Sc. Applied Health Informatics and Digital Medicine.

Our program offers you a unique opportunity to master medical data integration, data analytics, and machine learning in a medical context. This creates the foundation for innovative, data-driven diagnostics and therapy.

Last Monday we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Victor Ayerdi Bardales from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) to RWTH International Academy. UVG is a renowned private university in the capital of Guatemala with a strong international orientation.

We are delighted to offer our partner university individual qualification programs as a pathway to our Master's programs in the future. At the same time, the development of a personalized Summer School in the automotive sector is growing!

It’s a wrap! The fourth and last attendance phase of Paroma 2022 is history. Time flies so fast. In November 2022 our students joined us for the first time and now in August the last attendance phase has come to an end.

The fourth attendance phase of our part-time master's program, which trains dental students to become experts in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease, focuses on implantology and the use of lasers in periodontal treatment.

Since the best way to learn is not only to deal with theory, all Summer School programs also include sessions for hands-on learning: case studies, institute visits, expert talks and company tours. The latter primarily to make students familiar with the German industry and get them interested in internships or entry-level positions.

This year, we again had the honor of cooperating with the traditional German company Henkel for the Summer School Production Technology meets Industry 4.0.

We are delighted to share with you the outstanding experience of our Summer School Energy Performance of Buildings and Districts students during their recent visit to SmartQuart. Led by the Dr. Arndt Brauckmann and Mr. Uwe Dietze, the tour took us through three incredible stops in the region.

In conclusion, our visit to SmartQuart left us energized and hopeful for a greener future. We would like to thank everyone involved in making this visionary project a reality.

Providing our Robotic Systems Engineering students with real-world ROS experience!

As part of our new career program, this course was a great way for our students to sharpen their profile and enhance their skills in programming cobots using the ROS framework.

The course came to be in cooperation with RWTH Aachen’s IGMR, co-creating and teaching the course, and Universal Robots, who provided the cobots the students worked on during the week.

A warm welcome to all new RWTH German Engineering College (GEC) students on their way to a customized Master's preparation!

Because of the guidance and support from our Academy Offices for each individual student, we are welcoming a multi-cultural group of students this year. After months of planning and consulting, we are so happy that we could welcome them now in our digital Opening Event and finally start with our courses again.

The first program, "Robotics, Communication Networks and Innovation" kicked off last Monday, and it's already off to an incredible start!

Across all programs, we are very excited to see students immerse themselves in a dynamic learning environment where they'll engage with experts from RWTH Aachen University and global companies, collaborate with like-minded peers, and dive deep into hands-on projects that will push the boundaries of their imagination.

As we embark on this exciting summer journey, we can't wait to witness the incredible creativity and innovation that will unfold.

Last Monday, the Academy welcomed two professors from the School of Electronics Engineering of the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) in India, Dr. Sivanantham Sathasivam, Professor and Dean and Dr. Zachariah C. Alex. The VIT is a private university and ranged among the top 3 in India with strong international presence across the world and partnerships with over 300 foreign universities.

The objective of their visit was to strengthen the research collaboration between the VIT and the RWTH Aachen and explore possible activities in the field of Electronics and relevant domains.

For the course start in September 2023, we offer the brand new research grant by Dürr Dental

The southern German company has been part of the dental industry and its technical development for more than 80 years. As part of a current research group at the company, the master’s thesis will be written as part of a research series. The scholarship holder will receive financial support for this. Close supervision, on-site research as well as insights into industrial research are part of the sponsorship.

Let's celebrate! Last Friday, the first class of our part-time M.Sc. Medical Data Science celebrated their successful graduation.

We are proud to educate new experts in this field and congratulate all graduates on completing their studies! We are looking forward to a great future in the field of Medical Data Science.

Our BIM Talent Program is in full progress! After having already been at the Hilti Store in Aachen in February, we were invited yesterday to visit the Viega World in Attendorn together with our talents from Viega GmbH & Co. KG and Hilti Deutschland AG.

For their first time the participants of the program had the opportunity to experience working with Building Information Modeling in direct application.

Due to a high amount of impressive applications we have decided to offer additional scholarships and extend the application deadline until March 15.

The scholarship is applicable for all open 2023 Summer Schools taking place on campus. Scholarship holders are charged only 50% of the program fee.

Students studying in the following countries are eligible: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, South Korea and Turkey.

It was an all-round successful afternoon with practical stations, meetings with the mentors, plenty of new inspiration and happy faces of our talents.

A warm welcome to everyone attending the manager training programme “Fit for Partnership with Germany” by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and GIZ!

After two exciting and successful workshop days in New Delhi, we can proudly present the current participants joining the programme with the topic focus on “Green Technology”. We are looking forward to the upcoming months with our participants and the enriching exchange.

Our M.Sc. Textile Engineering (Textile) is accredited by the renowned "The Textile Institute", placing it as one of three excellent educational programs in Germany.

The Textile Institute accredits a selection of courses worldwide in all areas of textile industries, while promoting professionalism in the sector globally.

Until November 30, our enrolled master's students have the chance to apply for three different scholarships:

• Social Responsibility Award
• Student Project Grant

The participants are representatives of the Bălţi Free Trade Zone and the associated "TechZone" project. In Aachen, they are looking at current research on the topic of Industry 4.0 at numerous institutes of RWTH in order to use these insights to further develop their own educational institutions.

It was a pleasure for us to conduct our RWTH Summer Schools on campus this year. This summer we welcomed 58 students on site and another 61 online from a total of 21 countries.

This week, RWTH International Academy has hosted an info event for our brand-new format “RWTH BIM Talent Program”. The exclusive Talent Program is an initiative of the globally active companies Hilti and Viega and is aimed at the first-year students of the public Master’s degree programs at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

To help you stay ahead of the curve, we are launching the IDEA League Executive Programm with two distinct tracks: Sustainability and Emerging Technologies.

What impact do your products have on the environment? Our Basics of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) course shows how you can test your products.

With our international master's degree M.Sc. in Periodontology we are offering a part-time master's program for continuing dental education. It is conducted together with the Clinic for Operative Dentistry, Periodontology and Preventive Dentistry at RWTH Aachen University Hospital.

As of March 2, students from EU can apply for our English-language M.Sc. degree programs in engineering. Additive Manufacturing, Electric Mobility Production or Robotic Systems Engineering are just some of the current research and production topics we have integrated into our M.Sc. degree programs.

To ensure that our students and participants are perfectly cared for during their education and training, our new boarding house and apartment building will open on June 2021 in the heart of Aachen's city center. 64 beds in the boarding house and 41 apartments for long-term living will then be available - and some of them with a view of the Aachen Cathedral spires!

With the help of previous donors, 86 students severely affected by the pandemic situation have already been supported by bridging scholarships (€600 each).
