Practical Approaches to Modern Automated Solutions for Machines and Plants

Use practical examples and your own implementation of a robot-supported application to familiarize yourself with the ideas and concepts of the networked factory. You will gain a fundamental understanding of current topics, changes and trends in production automation.

You are a specialist or manager in the fields of manufacturing, production or mechanical engineering.

Motivation
Automated production today represents an important branch of the German mechanical and plant engineering industry. Product-centered control, CPS, networking of virtual and real worlds, individualized production and human-robot cooperation open up numerous potentials: from increasing efficiency to the basis for new business models.

Methodology
On the first three days of attendance, basic knowledge will be developed based on lectures and numerous practical examples and exercises. This will be deepened in the second half of the course by the own implementation of a robot-supported application.

On the first day of the course the following topics will be taught:

  • History of Industry 4.0 and current developments in production technology
  • Integrative production technology, flexibilisation of production facilites
  • Enabling technologies for I 4.0, OPC UA, Funk etc.

On the second day of the course the following topics will be taught:

  • Challenges of a Data-Continuous Automation Pyramid, Potentials and Challenges of Cloud Computing
  • Human-computer interaction and collaboration
  • Lab-Tour through the Smart Automation Lab

On the third day of the course the following topics will be taught:

  • Internet of Production for robot-based systems
  • Assembly Robotics and Smart Automation
  • Introduction to the practical application task

On the fourth day of the course the following topics will be taught:

  • Processing the application task

On the fifth day of the course the following topics will be taught:

  • Presentation of the results, expert panel and awarding of certificates
