Contents of the Training
In addition to the basics of supply chain management, you will gain deep insights into current challenges such as the effects of Industry 4.0, key figures for the sustainability assessment of global production networks (GPN) and success factors of resilient supply chains. You will learn about the dynamics and interactions regarding procurement and distribution within a supply chain and derive new insights into the behavior of supply chains. Strategies for continuous - also software-supported - network design processes are also part of the certificate course, as are digitization tools for inter-company collaboration and the advantages of data-based decision support in network design and control.

The Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) at RWTH Aachen University carries out both basic research and consulting projects oriented to the needs of industry, thus developing innovative, practical solutions for the successful development of companies. The goal of dealing with the entire range of production engineering issues in one house results in a broad field of work, ranging from strategic innovation, production and quality management to control, machine, production and measurement technology.
The Institute for Industrial Management FIR (Research. Innovation. Realization.) is a non-profit, intersectoral research and educational institution at RWTH Aachen University concerned with business organization, information logistics and corporate IT with the aim to establish the organizational basis for the digitally integrated company of the future.
Participation Requirements & Target Group
The Supply Chain Manager is aimed at supply chain managers and employees in strategic departments (network design, site selection, strategic issues).
The following area is of particular interest:

The number of participants is limited to 20 persons in order to ensure an efficient knowledge transfer in the dialog between the participants and lecturers is guaranteed.
