Program Outline | Summer School 2022

As a student, you receive an overview of current challenges and new technologies with regards to the future electric grid. You explore the role of measurements and learn about uncertainty. Synchronized measurements including sensors and instruments are an important subject.

In laboratory exercises, you use the modern research tool called real time simulation. Another focus lies on microgrids and distributed intelligence for power systems. Overall, you will understand the basics on power economics.

Your Lecturers | Summer School 2022

The E.ON Energy Research Center of RWTH Aachen University is responsible for the direction of the academic content. Two divisions of E.ON ERC conduct the lectures:

Institute for Automation of Complex Power Systems and Institute for Power Generation and Storage Systems. The Institute High Voltage and Grids, Digitalization and Power Economics supports the teaching.

Every year we welcome students from all over the world. You can become part of our international student community if you:

  • are at least 18 years old
  • pursue your higher education
    - 1st/2nd year of studies completed
    - degree related to our program
  • are proficient in the English language

Desirable is basic understanding of power generation and power systems, electrochemical systems or electricity systems and its components.

The Summer School at RWTH was a unique opportunity. It was a two-week program which provided me with academic knowledge, social experiences, inter cultural exchanges and an overview on current development technologies in Germany. This experience provided me with my first contact with a university outside my home country and it was crucial to the development of my education.
