Power Cable Colloquium – Development, project planning and operation

The Institute for High Voltage Equipment and Grids, Digitalization and Energy Economics (IAEW) will again offer the “Power Cable Colloquium – Development, project planning and operation” in the coming winter semester 2023/24 in a hybrid format in Aachen. This advanced training course is organized in cooperation with the Energie- und Hochspannungstechnische Gesellschaft an der RWTH Aachen e.V. (EHG) and the RWTH Aachen International Academy gGmbH. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from RWTH Aachen University.

Seminar content

The aim of the colloquium is to impart provide on the subject of power cables - from the manufacturer's point of view, from design and manufacture to acceptance testing of power cables and accessories, and from the transmission system operator's point of view, from project planning to commissioning and operational management of cable systems. Renowned speakers will ensure that the presentations are relevant to practical issues and current projects. Future challenges and developments will be addressed in all presentations.

Who should attend

The seminar is aimed at professionals from network operators, utilities and industry, as well as technical colleges and universities. Students who are registered at RWTH and wish to obtain a certificate for their academic record can also take a written examination at the IAEW. The seminar is free of charge for registered RWTH students who register via RWTHonline.

Please note: the presentations will be held in English. The presentations at the “HVDC seminar”, which you can attend at a reduced rate by registering for both events, will be in German.
