RWTH Certificate Course – AD/AS Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Automated Driving
Connectivity and automation - drivers for safe, efficient and comfortable mobility of the future
The development of automobiles is facing a paradigm shift: vehicles are increasingly determined by software. The connectivity and (partial) automation of vehicles as well as public transport are becoming increasingly important. The introduction of such systems will enable mobility to be safer, more efficient and more comfortable in the future while also increasing social participation in mobility. For example, the use of innovative technologies can prevent or reduce the consequences of accidents. At the same time, assistance systems help to reduce the driver's workload and improve driving comfort on the roads.
Familiarize yourself with these technologies and the necessary development tools in our practical RWTH certificate course and learn how to understand, evaluate and successfully integrate the system!

Modular Content of the Training
In this course, you will acquire the necessary knowledge on connectivity and (partial) automation of road vehicles. You will become familiar with the basics of how automated vehicles work, as well as the components required for this. You will also learn how artificial intelligence and machine learning can be used in the system as well as during development of this. Understand the development process by taking a holistic view, e.g. using simulation tools. Finally, you will also learn methods for verifying, validating and assessing the effectiveness of such systems. The modular structure allows you to design the course according to your individual needs by choosing from the various subject areas. By dividing the course into clear basic modules and in-depth advanced units, you decide to what extent you would like to deepen your knowledge. This allows you to create your own personal course according to your interests and goals.
