Welcome to Aachen: 58 GEC students begin their journey on-campus at RWTH University
We are delighted to welcome 58 students from our German Engineering College (GEC) to Aachen! After preparing for their studies online, our new students have now arrived on campus to begin the next chapter of their journey toward a Master’s degree at RWTH Aachen University.
A truly international group
The welcome event marked the beginning of an exciting period for our students. Coming from different academic and cultural backgrounds, they are now getting to know Aachen, RWTH Aachen University and their fellow GEC students as they prepare for the months ahead.
This year’s cohort is particularly international. Alongside our students from China, we are proud to welcome three students from Latin America: one from Colombia and two from Guatemala. We would like to extend a special thank you to our Latin America Office for its continued support in strengthening our connections across the region and helping more talented students discover opportunities available at RWTH Aachen University.
From the GEC to RWTH Aachen University
The German Engineering College (GEC) supports international students in bridging academic gaps and preparing for their future Master’s studies in Germany. The program combines academic preparation with the opportunity to gain experience in the RWTH environment and build connections with fellow students and members of the university community.
For our students, the coming months will be filled with new experiences. They will live and study in Aachen, take part in engineering courses and conduct research at RWTH institutes, gaining valuable insights into academic life and research in Germany.
The on-campus format is an important step in their GEC journey, giving students the opportunity to experience university life in Aachen while preparing for their future Master’s studies.
A new chapter begins
With 58 students now joining the on-campus program, we are excited to see the GEC community continue to grow, both in size and in international diversity. From China to Colombia and Guatemala, our students bring different perspectives, experiences and ambitions to Aachen.
We are looking forward to accompanying them throughout their time in Aachen and supporting them as they take the next steps toward their academic and professional futures.
