Innovative learning on site: BIM Talent Program visited Viega World

As part of the BIM Talent Program of RWTH International Academy in cooperation with Viega GmbH & Co. KG and Hilti Deutschland AG, our talents visited the Viega World in Attendorn this week.

Designed holistically using Building Information Modeling, Viega World is considered one of the most innovative and sustainable seminar centers in the industry. Covering a total area of 12,000 square meters, it impressively demonstrates how the entire planning and construction process can be made more efficient and sustainable.

Viega worked closely with the Chair of Energy Efficient Building at RWTH Aachen University under the direction of Prof. Dr. Christoph van Treeck.

Highlights of the visit included the Viega Sphere, where we were able to experience in 360° and 3D how Viega used BIM in the planning process, and the fascinating tour of the modern seminar building. There were also numerous opportunities to look behind the walls of the building – into areas that normally remain hidden.

Many thanks for the warm welcome and the successful excursion!
