Implantology Meets Emergency Medicine in the M.Sc. Periodontology 2026
Summer in Aachen and another exciting on-campus phase for Paroma 2026!
For our M.Sc. Periodontology students, the third on-campus phase has already become a familiar part of the program. Nevertheless, this session once again offered a diverse schedule filled with practical training, clinical insights, and valuable opportunities for professional exchange.
Preparing for the Unexpected
The focus of this phase was on the modules “Emergency” and “Maintenance”. These sessions covered not only periodontal emergencies but also medical situations that may occur in everyday dental practice.
To build confidence in handling real-life scenarios, our students trained a variety of emergency situations and learned how to respond effectively when quick decisions are required. From loss of consciousness to more serious medical emergencies, the hands-on exercises provided valuable experience and strengthened their preparation for clinical practice.
One of the highlights of the training was the enthusiastic participation of our lecturers, who stepped into the role of patients to create realistic and engaging scenarios. This allowed students to apply their knowledge in a practical setting and gain confidence in managing emergency situations.
Digital Workflows and Modern Implant Dentistry
The module “Maintenance, Peri-Implantitis and DVT Diagnostics” shifted the focus back to the dental aspects of the program. In addition to various powder techniques and equipment, our students were also trained in the use of special software for developing, planning and modelling 3D images of implants and their placement.
