Graduation ceremony of the M.Sc. Laboratory Animal Science graduates, class of 2022 & 2023!
It's time to say goodbye – but with loud applause! We recently celebrated the graduation of the 2022 and 2023 M.Sc. Laboratory Animal Science classes at RWTH International Academy. Our seventh and eighth groups have now successfully completed their master's degrees in Laboratory Animal Science.
From screen to reality!
Prof. Dr. René H. Tolba and Apl.-Prof. Dr. Julia Steitz, our scientific directors, recalled the journey of our students – from being just a digital face to becoming real-life study buddies. Furthermore, they highlighted the growth of our global network.
The start of the master's program was the first step on our students' journey of knowledge. With the joint graduation of two cohorts, they are now taking the next step – into a vibrant community of experts who shape this field with passion and expertise.
Prof. Dr. Sabine Bischoff, head of the department of laboratory animal science at the Medical Faculty of Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, gave an inspiring guest lecture on “Failing Forward: Building a Positive Error Culture in Animal Research”. She outlined how such a culture can be established and sustained, emphasizing its strength and encouraging our graduates to advocate for this scientific environment. Thank you for these valuable insights!
Moreover, we had the privilege of hearing our top graduates, Laura Warner & Birte Ohm, presenting their master theses on “Severity assessment of subarachnoid hemorrhage models in rats: a comparative study of blood injection and endovascular perforation model” and “Influence of Cluster of Differentiation 26/Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 on fibrotic remodelling in a mouse model of chronic lung allograft rejection”.
Congratulations to our graduates! We look forward to staying in touch with our growing network of experts.
