The project aims to improve the transfer of practical knowledge in the field of “Innovation & Entrepreneurship”. Together, European researchers, students and companies develop and pilot innovative and creative methods of teaching and learning. These provide a practical understanding of how to generate a useful value from an idea and to thereby further the innovation process. Thanks to the interactive exchange between research and practice, a didactically revised module and a certificate course, “Innovation & Entrepreneurship” (6 ECTS), are developed. The project TACIT is supported by funds from the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme (FKZ).
Third-Party Funded Projects
In order to develop and pilot new educational programmes and to finance new educational initiatives, the RWTH International Academy participates in public requests for tenders issued by various funding parties (e.g. the Federal State, the Federal Government, the EU, foundations). In doing so, the Academy closely cooperates with partners with a scientific and practical background. Thanks to its close proximity to the RWTH Aachen University the Academy is furthermore able to directly approach the institutes and associated institutes of the RWTH Aachen University and to include them as project partners. They provide the scientific part of the proposal. As a service provider for academic further education, the Academy addresses the various important challenges that surround the sustainable development and qualification of further education programmes in respect to the project outcome [diesen Satz verstehe ich i. Orig. nicht]. To successfully utilise project results, the Academy develops application-oriented further education courses that impart new scientific findings resulting from a project to diverse target groups. Thanks to the its extensive experience in the field of quality management, the Academy can operate as a competent project partner for quality assurance in third-party funded projects.
In cooperation with project partners from Macedonia, this project focusses on the joint development and accreditation of a new international multidisciplinary post graduate master’s programme in “Structural Engineering and Risk Management of Industrial Facilities”. This master’s programme will give engineers with work experience the chance to acquire additional competences for the complex tasks found in industrial plant construction. The project CONSTRUCT is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (FKZ: 01DS16003).
The project with the motto “Fit for Partnership with Germany” trains international executives of SMEs interested in economic cooperation with German companies. The practice-oriented programme imparts practical knowledge and interdisciplinary competences and prepares the executives specifically for the initiation of business collaborations with German companies. This further education programme for managers is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
To further job market qualification for students and young graduates from Arab countries, a new dual postgraduate programme “German Engineering” is being developed in this project. The qualification programme provides subject specific and generic competences and ensures the direct application of this expertise during a fixed-term internship in a German company. The vocational components of this programme enable the participants to increase their chances of successfully gaining access to the job market in their native countries. The Dual Post Graduate Studies Arab Countries programme is funded by the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia.
In this project, didactically innovative digital features are added to the already successfully implemented RWTH Master’s College Physics, in order to inspire more international students to pursue a master’s degree programme in Aachen and to give them a good start at the RWTH Aachen University. EDDI MAC (EDucation DIgital in the RWTH MAster´s College) offers international students a digital platform that provides them with an e-learning course in mathematics (and offers extracurricular services and support even before they arrive in Aachen. The EDDI MAC project is funded by the Donors' association for the promotion of humanities and sciences in Germany.
