Career Day 2017 | Review

On June 8th 2017 the networking and recruiting event Career Day of RWTH International Academy took place for the fourth time. The event’s goal is to provide the international master students of RWTH International Academy’s programmes with valuable networking opportunities throughout their studies to ensure a successful transition into the job market after graduation. At the same time, local companies get the chance to meet highly motivated students and assess them as suitable candidates for internships, a master thesis or direct job entry.

The hosts of this year’s Career Day were Marina Brandt, Business Unit Manager for Career Services & Networks at RWTH International Academy, and Lucas Ciccarelli, a student of Textile Engineering. Close to 130 students of all programs took the chance to get information and networking opportunities with the companies ASML, Procter & Gamble, Jobactive, Nash Direct, Tecosim, Phoenix Mecano, Whoohoo, Trotec, Techniker Krankenkasse and The Association of German Engineers. One of the designated highlights of this year was the newly introduced Company Slam, in which representatives of ASML, Tecosim and Phoenix Mecano only had 30 seconds to answer the witty questions of Lucas Ciccarelli.

With networking opportunities such as Round Table discussions and the Market Place being highly frequented throughout the whole event, both the companies and the students gained valuable contacts for the future.

RWTH Aachen International Academy is already looking forward to hosting the event again in 2018.
