Then join our RWTH International Guest Student Program for an unforgetable time at RWTH Aachen University and brush up your engineering career. You get the chance to write a practical research-oriented Bachelor thesis in a double-tutor system (RWTH Aachen University / your home University) and brush up on some of the subjects required for M.Sc. Programs.
Students in their last year of study with above average achievements from an engineering undergraduate degree program (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Engineering) and sufficient English language skills are allowed to apply for the exchange and qualification program.
RWTH MEC is designed for students in their last Bachelor year who wish to improve on some of the subjects required for the M.Sc. programs and want to write a practical, research oriented Bachelor thesis in a double-tutor system with a professor from RWTH Aachen University and a professor from their home University.
A Master’s program at RWTH requires a very advanced and specialized level of technical knowledge. To obtain this level, the RWTH MEC offers bridging courses, German language courses, as well as close scientific guidance, involvement in practice and research, and intense social support. In our RWTH MEC you can combine this in your last Bachelor year with writing your Bachelor thesis at an RWTH Institute.
The program structure offers students the opportunity to participate in a research oriented internship and to complete their Bachelor thesis at one of the research institutes of RWTH Aachen University in a double-tutor system with a Prof. of your home University.
The bridging courses will start on August the 05th 2019 and run until the 04th of May 2020.
After arrival in Germany, we will have a welcome week together. Then your technical courses in Mathematics, Mechanics, Modelling and Simulation, Thermodynamics and Machine Design as preparation of admission requirements for a Master program at RWTH Aachen to be qualified to fulfil the admission requirements for a Master´s degree in Mechanical Engineering at RWTH. In addition the students will get a term attendant course in scientific writing and a german language course up to their German Level.
After the two month courses at RWTH, students start into their internship at a research institute of RWTH. You can do your internship and your bachelor thesis in an institute of the RWTH. For example, in 2017/2018 our visiting students were at the Institute of Mechanics, Institute of Mechanism Theory, Machine Dynamics and Robotics and the Institute of Rail Vehicles and Transport Systems of RWTH Aachen University. During your internship you complete your Bachelor Thesis under a double-tutor system (Professor from your home University and Professor from RWTH Aachen).
In addition, during your free time, you will be included in a social program with excursions and events to get to know the city and university.
New in 2019: There will be some special preperation courses online before the start of the program from the beginning of July 2019 on.
