The M.Sc.Physics program is a publicly funded education program and is therefore free of charge. The preparation course offered by Master’s College is a privately funded program and, accordingly, tuition fees are charged. Through the support provided by the Master’s College course, you will be enabled to graduate sooner and thereby save on other costs.
We are happy to announce our MAC Physics High Potential Scholarship. Participants of the Master's College Physics can save up to 50% of the tuition fees which have to be paid for the Master's College.

Secure funding is very important for the success of your studies. It is important that you consider the following different costs, as an international student, completing your entire Master’s degree program in Germany.

A German student’s average monthly budget amounts to EUR 850 - 900. This includes rent, food, clothing, learning material, health insurance, phone, internet, radio and television fees and expenses for leisure activities. It does not include the semester fee, which needs to be paid prior to each semester as part of re-registration. This means that higher costs arise at the start of the semester.

The MAC Physics High Potential Scholarship was created to enable prospective Physics Master students to participate in the Master's College Physics support program, offered by RWTH International Academy. We offer this scholarship to support more international students to have a smooth on-boarding process into their English-taught M.Sc. Physics degree program.

Students who are already enrolled will find several options for (partial) scholarships, some of them offered exlusively by the RWTH International Academy.
RWTH Bildungsfonds (Education Fund)
This scholarship is awarded to Bachelor/Master students of the RWTH Aachen University demonstrating extraordinary results during their studies (within the regular study time). International Academy students are eligible for the „Deutschlandstipendium“ part of this scholarship that currently awards 149 scholarships. These scholarships cover 300,00 EUR per month for one year. If you are interested, please visit the RWTH Aachen University Website.
KfW Study Loan
All undergraduate and postgraduate studies as well as certificate courses, including part-time courses offered by the universitiy may be covered by funding. Accordingly, every degree program offered by the RWTH International Academy can be funded. You may request a monthly payment ranging between 100,00 and 650,00 EUR. The amount maybe adapted within this range for each semester seperately. The loan is given independent of income or assets. Security for a loan is not required. However, only German or EU students are eligible.
DAAD-STIBET-Matching Funds
This scholarship is designed for Bachelor/Master students who have to work to cover their living expenses. Its purpose is to relieve them and give financial support during examination periods. Ten scholarships of 400,00 EUR each are offered for three months per year. For more information please follow the link to the RWTH Aachen University Website.
DAAD Scholarship for International Students
DAAD offers scholarships which particularly target candidates completing their postgraduate education and training (doctoral studies, research). The selection process is, however, highly competitive. Master's degree students from selected countries may apply for DAAD scholarships. For detailed information on available funding opportunities for international students, graduates, doctoral candidates, postdocs, and lecturers please visit the DAAD Scholarships Database. Applicants from eligible groups (i.e. students, graduates, doctoral candidates, and academic staff) must submit their applications either to the German Embassy in their home country or to a DAAD branch office there.

TANDEM Mentoring Programme: The TANDEM mentoring programme has been conducted successfully for several years and is offered by the Integration Team, a Rectorate staff unit at RWTH Aachen University. In one-to-one mentoring partnerships, typically for the duration of between one and one and a half years, mentees are supported by their mentors in developing their goals and potentials.
