German Engineering, Language and Culture
Beginning in August 2007, RWTH Aachen University and Keio University have staged a Summer School in Aachen for around 20 selected students from Keio's Graduate School of Science and Engineering. This program is an important part of the cooperation between RWTH Aachen and Keio and supported by numerous institutes of RWTH, including the Institute of Applied Microbiology (IAMB), Institute of Inorganic Chemistry (IAC), III. Institute of Physics B, Institute for Combustion Technology (ITV), Institute of Structural Mechanics and Lightweight Design (SLA), Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL), Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, Aachener Verfahrenstechnik (AVT) and the RWTH Aachen University Language Center (SZ).
The Summer School is all about German engineering, natural sciences, and German language and culture. It provides students with an introduction into selected topics. At the same time, the interdisciplinary approach allows students from different fields of study to gain new insights into some of the most interesting fields of study RWTH has to offer. Topics include Industry 4.0, sustainable mobility concepts, fundamentals of natural sciences (biology, chemistry and physics), bioprocess technology and German language classes. The program also features academic and social events that are related to the German way of life.
Participation in the Summer School is open to students from Keio University, to students from all of RWTH Aachen's Japanese partner universities as well as to students from member universities of the ASPIRE League.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Aachen!
