A German student’s average monthly budget amounts to EUR 850 - 900. This includes rent, food, clothing, learning materials, health insurance, phone, internet, radio and television fees and expenses for leisure activities. It does not include tuition or semester fee. The semester fee needs to be paid prior to each semester as part of re-registration, which means that higher costs arise at the start of the semester.
