Overall coordination of our M.Sc. degree programs.

When I am not in the office jugling to coordinate our Master's programs portfolio you would most likely find me in a BodyCombat class juggling to coorodinate jabs, hocks and kicks or the beat, pace and resistance of an RPM ride.

I have lived and worked in South Africa and a road trip across Namibia is next on my list - when is the semester break again?

I'd love to learn Swedish, but somehow the (non-existent) nearby course offerings are a bit of an obstacle for me. Oh well, I guess I can start with learning Dutch first - which should be more practical when you live on the three border triangle anyways.

Before I joined RWTH International Academy, I was an active member of the Student Union of RWTH Aachen University. As the Project Leader of Political Education and Publications, I organized talks and discussion panels on current political topics for RWTH students. It was a joy to see students being so interested in social and political issues.

If you don't find me in my office, you would probably see me at Königshügel in Aachen. In my free time, I enjoy doing sports, e.g. table tennis, badminton, classical ballet, beach volleyball, fitness with music, thaibo, you name it!

My biggest passion is food culture. I wrote a 120-page-bachelor thesis on the topic "The Globalization and Localization of Chocolate in Asia". Landing in Aachen must have been a destiny for me as the Lindt factory is also located here!

I am originally from the UK and studied my Bachelor in French and Spanish there. I also got to practice my language skills during a semester in Lille, France and a year out in Montevideo, Uruguay. After graduating, my goal was to improve my German and move to Germany. I am now very proud to call the beautiful, historic city of Aachen my home!

In the past, I have taken part in two half-marathons and a 35km race. Nowadays I am even bigger sports fan because I've found a great class at RWTH’s Sports Center: “Fitness mit Musik”, where up to 200 people run around and do aerobics and toning exercises in a huge circle to fast-paced music for an hour.

As a “foodie” I love trying out new cafes and restaurants in Aachen, or even going to my old favorites: Café Juli, Monsieur Daniel, Baristinho, Ghorban, Bon’ame, Habibi, or the classic combination of Egmont/AKL.

I love talking politics and cooking. Simultaneously.

Historical fact! I studied in Taiwan for three years. Great country, great people, great food.

Aside from that I am also interested in economics, education, ethics, and general enjoyment.

I am from Aachen and after school I travelled through Australia to see something other than my hometown. During this time I met six people from Aachen – by accident. We seem to be everywhere.

Since four years now I meet with the same group of friends every Monday to cook dinner with them and watch one (…okay three) episode of different kinds of TV series; from Black Mirrow to Stranger Things.

Since I started to work I developed an allergy against beer...

Before moving to the RWTH International Academy, I gained many years of professional experience as an engineering consultant. Before that, I gained a few years of experience in a human resources department, where I was primarily responsible for recruiting suitable people.

Privately, I enjoy spending my free time with my wife, my three children and our dog. For more than 20 years, I have been going to all home games of my favorite football club 1. FC Köln and still do, as a further compensation for work. I really like to travel with my family and most of all I love the water. I can best recharge my batteries there.

I also enjoy going to watch movies in the cinema like Star Wars, The Equalizer, IT and Dunkirk. Playing online for example Fifa 18 on my Xbox One X console is a thing I share with my friends.

Hobbies: I love to travel the world in my free time and I always take my travel buddy, a stuffed panda, with me.

Favorite place in Aachen: My favorite place in Aachen is the Domplatz. It is near my highschool St. Leonhard and always brings back memories.

Favorite thing at work: The thing I like most about working at the Master Office is organizing and attending social events for the students.

I will not considered myself sporty but I love to swim, dive and do any other activities that involve water. My dream dive location would be Blautopf Spring located in Blaubeuren, near Ulm and Silfra Crack in Thingvellir, Iceland.

I'm very interested in languages (Verbal or Non-Verbal) and occasionally writing short stories or poems on my blog.

My closest friends know I am an excellent lasagna and salmon-wellington chef.

I did Karate for 12 whole years until I had to quit due to school responsibilities. During that time I took part in many championships, including one World and one European Championship, and trained up to 5 times a week for those.

Counting seperately, I moved about 14 times at this point in my life – among other locations I have lived in Ireland, Scotland and South Korea so far. I’d like to think that all the moving eventually got me interested in other cultures and an international environment.

Despite not having much musical talent myself, I love music and if I’m not in the office, you’ll probably find me at a live concert or two ;)
