Take your engineering skills to the next level

Become a computational engineer with strong digital engineering skills to meet the challenges of today's changing manufacturing, design, automation and production. The M.Sc. CAME incorporates most recent topics in CAE by providing a deep understanding of methods, technologies and software tools used to design and develop digital models of complex technical systems, objects or products. In particular, the program focuses on advanced computer simulation software required for the creation of digital twins, which significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of design tasks in mechanical engineering. In addition, sound interdisciplinary engineering knowledge in the finite element methods, numerical methods, continuum mechanics or multibody dynamics will be lectured.

As an M.Sc. CAME student, you will learn to

  • design, apply and optimize cutting-edge simulation technology for high-tech products
  • read and understand complex technical drawings
  • master computer simulation software to create, simulate and analyze digital twins and enhance mechanical design and production
  • use computerized design modelling and simulations for mechanical systems for industrial production processes

The CAME program is under the academic direction of the Institute of General Mechanics (IAM), one of the oldest institutes at RWTH Aachen University. In its research, the IAM focuses on the broad field of Digital Engineering involving advanced modeling and simulation methods as well as artificial intelligence. Research insights from key topics in the context of Industry 4.0 such as predictive maintenance, digital twins and cyber physical systems flow directly into the curriculum and prepare you master the challenges of digital transformation.
