Introduction and Application of ROS

Control a real robot and thus get to know the ROS middleware and the tools to develop modern robotics systems. Moreover, you will use the concepts publish-subscribe, service and action servers. You will also test methods to localize, map and plan movements in ROS.

Motivation
The Robot Operating System (ROS) has achieved an impressive influence in research and product development. It contains many open source implementations of common robotics functions and algorithms in areas such as perception, knowledge representation as well as planning and control. With mobile and stationary robotics systems as well as underwater robotics or flying drones, there are few limits to the applicability of the software.

Methodology
The course takes place on five consecutive days and ends with an exam. Course content is developed and consolidated in interactive lectures, group work, presentations and case studies.
